One of the essential statistical considerations for the dissertation methods section is sample size justification. Your committee wants to know that your sample size is adequate to address your research questions. The way to justify a sample size is with a statistical power analysis. Sample Size Justification

In basic terms, a power analysis determines how likely it is that you could detect a significant difference - that is, achieve statistically significant results - with a given sample size.
